From chunky soles, to classic feminine silhouettes, there's a pair for every taste.
Winter is finally (hopefully?) fading and now that we are well on our way into spring, there is shopping to be done. Chief among our add-to-cart priorities are some trendy pieces, first and foremost, the everyday shoe style of the season: the fisherman sandal. With its caged lattice-work, there's a reason why the shoe has been an under-the-radar staple for decades. But now with the fashionista's stamp of approval (look no further than the oodles of influencer and model off duty street style pics), it's the time to buy. And there are plenty of iterations to choose from.
We made the work easy for you, with 13 of our favorite silhouettes, and to sweeten the deal, we have some styling tips courtesy of style influencer extraordinaire, Carla Rockmore. Leaning towards a chunky version? "A thicker flatform style works with proportions of all hemlines from midi dresses to miniskirts. A substantial shoe can help carry stronger patterns and colors like the trendy summer stripes we've seen all over the runway."
And what about a subtler silhouette? "A quietly elevated and graceful sandal pairs beautifully with any minimalist maxi dress or skirt. A flat sole allows for the flounce and swoosh of voluminous cuts to fall into the floorboards without interruption. This optical illusion will make the wearer look more elongated and grounded."

Take it from Carla Rockmore: "The lug sole and black color of this sandal make it enormously versatile for so many occasions and outings. I especially love the idea of a frilly feminine blouse, a somewhat beat up oversized pair of jeans, and these fabulous punk leaning sandals to finish the look. If I were going on a long trip, this shoe would definitely be in my suitcase. I can think of very little that doesn't work with this style."
"The beautiful neutral hue of the sandal will allow for any color pairing, although I particularly love the idea of continuing the line in creams and neutrals from top to bottom, or shockingly contrast it with navy or black. I see the sandal working beautifully on a weekend visit to a local gallery, a day of eclectic shopping in antique markets, or a casual yet elegant evening out to dinner," says Rockmore.
Dainty with just a hint of gloss, these sandals will transcend the trend and be a staple for years to come.
