MAAP Division Socks Review - FeedTheHabit.com

My sock drawer is stacked full of various pairs that I’ll still wear occasionally. My wife hates opening it because it’s stuffed to the brim, but I don’t have that problem because my favorite cycling socks always go from the dryer to the garage and the MAAP Division socks never go in the drawer. With excellent style, height and performance, these remain my favorite cycling socks.

After well over a year of use, the MAAP Division socks remain at the ready at any given moment. Currently, they are sitting in my Scott Gravel Tuned shoes, but they are consistently tucked into one pair of shoes or another — ready for regular use. Just why do I like the Division socks so much?

First off, admittedly, I’m a sock snob. Life is too short to wear crappy socks. A great pair of socks will make a poor pair of shoes feel better and a great pair of shoes feel like Cinderella’s slippers. With many great cycling shoes at my disposal, the MAAP Division socks turn each one of them into magical territory with excellent compression, fit, comfort and style.

A great pair of socks will also remain durable through my less-than-ideal testing conditions. I only wash socks on an as-needed basis, so we’re talking at least 3-5 rides before they see the family’s washing machine. The Q-Skin technology always keeps these stink-free. And, less washing reduces the chances of the Sock Monster to lose one of them (which happens too often in our family of 6). I’ve worn them extensively in dry and dusty Utah and hot and muggy Oklahoma summers.

The excellent compression of the Division socks, does require a little bit of work to get them on, but it’s not like the extra 10 seconds is that much of an issue. Spending that extra time results in a sock that has killer arch support and overall compression for long-distance comfort. A deep heel cup allows these to stay in place for a locked-in feel. Last summer, when I had my choice of all socks to wear for SBT GRVL, the MAAP Division socks were the easy choice for 6 hours of gravel.

I love the varied and purpose-built knitting throughout these socks. Each section of the sock is crafted for comfort, compression, wicking and performance. With that, these socks stay up all day and remain comfortable so you can perform your best with every pedal stroke on the road, gravel or dirt. The burgundy/blue color is no longer available, but several other solid colors are.

Fit: I wear a size 45 shoe and have been using the L-XL Divisions.

MAAP is at the forefront of cycling style and function. Their kits are consistently fantastic and the Division socks are equally superb. If I had one pair of socks for all types of riding, it would be the MAAP Division socks.
