Lorena (Nune) Masson, 91 of Plainville, passed away on June 7, 2022 with her goddaughter, Susan Desrosiers, by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Masson for 62 years. Lorena was born on Aug. 21, 1930 in Fort Kent, ME, to the late Thomas and Rose (Raymond) Theriault. She moved to Connecticut from Northern Maine in the 1950’s with her sister Madeline and Rene Bouchard for work opportunities.

She worked in manufacturing for many years and eventually retired from Rayex Corp in Plainville as a manufacturing supervisor. Nune spent hours knitting and crocheting slippers, wool socks, sweaters and afghan blankets. She and her husband enjoyed camping seasonal at Wolfs Den Family Campground in East Haddam for years with family and made many special friends. She also loved country music and dancing; her favorite dance was The Electric Slide.

Nune’s greatest joy was her love of family, especially babies and children. She was the happiest holding a child in her arms. Lorena is survived by seven siblings, Sylvia Caron, Madeline Bouchard, Marie Mae Bouchard, Gilman Theriault and his wife Terry, Joseph (Bill) Theriault and his wife Jean, Melvin Theriault and his wife, Jeanita and Diane Glasscock.

Nune is also survived by sister-in-laws, Winnie Theriault and Rinette Theriault and brother-in-law, Henry Collin. Nune is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Rose (Raymond) Theriault and brothers, Rosaire Theriault, Joel (Oda) Theriault and Norman Theriault, sisters, Rita Charette, her twin, Lorelda (Da) Boucher, Bernadette Collin and baby sister, Marie Theriault.

She is also predeceased by in-laws, Norman (Pete) Charette, Maurice Caron, Rene Bouchard, Camille Boucher, Reynold Bouchard and TiMae Theriault. Lorena is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her special great nephew, Keagan Mullan, who she affectionately referred to him since his birth as “My Boy,” and her loving niece, goddaughter, Susan Desrosiers who never left her side as she entered eternal life.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, June 12, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street Plainville, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 13th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville, CT. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum at a later date. Memorial donations can be made in Lorena’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
