Although predominantly associated with winter boots, UGG was founded in 1978 by an Australian surfer who was living in Southern California. Forged from a love of sheepskin, UGG has taken over stores around the world, sharing an appreciation for comfort and style, and has even adorned the cover of Vogue.

We’re going to take a deep dive into some of the most popular styles on the market right now and tell you all you need to know in our UGG Size Guide. Do UGG shoes run true to size? Should you size up in UGG boots? How do you know which UGG slippers to buy? We’ll give you all of these answers and more, so keep on reading.

For those of you in a rush to purchase, then put simply, UGG footwear runs true to size: there’s no need to size up or down. Thanks to the luxurious, high-end materials used, you’ll be getting a good quality shoe that will last a lifetime and fit well, too. You can read more about this below, but be warned when buying the sheepskin-lined Classic boots, as these feel super tight to begin with. However, we still suggest buying your true size, as the boots mould to your feet with wear and stretch over time to suit you.

FIT : UGG shoes generally fit true to size, regardless of whether you’ve opted for boots, trainers or slippers.

COMFORT : You’d be hard-pressed trying to find a more comfortable pair of boots or slippers. Often lined with soft sheepskin, there’s no doubt that the furry insoles make for an extremely comfortable on-foot experience. They're so warm, too!

CARE : UGG uses the best materials for their products, including grade-A sheepskin and premium leather, meaning that you need to take extra care to keep your UGG items looking fresh. Invest in some suede cleaner and try not to wear your slippers outdoors. The classic UGG slip-on boots should be saved for dry weather, although the Australian brand does sell slip-over waterproof boot guards.

PRICE : Premium quality comes at a premium price. UGG boots can be anywhere from £70 - £400 (collaborative pairs cost more!), with the most popular styles sitting at around £125. The slippers are probably a little more than what you’d pay usually at around £100, but for something you wear everyday, they’re well worth it.

I bought a pair of the UGG Ultra Mini boots, and thought they weren’t going to fit to begin with! I bought a UK 4, my usual size, and they were extremely difficult to get on. Rest assured this is something that comes with the design, I have fairly wide feet but over time the boots have moulded to the shape of mine, meaning that I was spot on with the sizing, despite them feeling a little tight to begin with.

The Classic Mini boots are some of the most comfortable shoes I own. There’s no breaking-in period, you can wear them straight away with no issues, which is totally different to any other winter boots I’ve owned in the past.

I’ve decided to not wear mine when it’s wet outside, as this would ruin the suede. You might want to spray them with some specialist suede protectant, or you can go with the UGG Boot Guards - these give me serious Yeezy vibes and give you two looks in one!

A casual boot calls for a casual ‘fit. I like wearing mine with a long coat, sweatpants and a beanie for that typical ‘influencer in winter’ look.

Absolutely! I’ve never had any problem buying my true size with any UGG footwear. Even the chunky, biker boots are made with an extremely soft leather that doesn’t need breaking in. A dream!

Beyond comfortable. I always reach for my pair because they are the easiest thing to slide on and off and wear on a daily basis. The fact that the UGG boots mould to the shape of your foot helps; you get a personalised fit with every pair.

My Classic Fur boots are amazing to wear with leggings and a ski jacket. I like to look like I’ve come straight off the slopes. If I’m feeling extra, I’ll stick on a pair of ear muffs, too.

UGG slippers and slides fit true to size, so there’s no need to size up or down in any case.

I never take mine off! Does that answer the question? UGG slippers are beyond comfortable, so much so that I have more than one pair now!

Depending on the style, you could definitely get away with wearing them outside in the dry weather. They have a hard sole, but that doesn’t mean I’d go stomping around in puddles in them any time soon. I personally stick to wearing mine indoors and for taking the bins out...

I’m currently obsessed with the tan Tasman slipper. The little embroidery detailing and platformed sole make it an instant win for me!

No! They do look chunky compared to other slippers, but I’d say that all UGG slippers and slides fit true to size. In fact, I’ve never had to stray from my usual size in any UGG footwear.

I own a pair of the Oh Fluffita slides in a “Khaki” colourway, and I like to pair mine with a matching Nike jogger set (usually grey in colour) and a funky pair of socks.

Coming between £80 - £100, UGG slides do seem expensive for a pair of slippers. Though, if you wear them everyday and look at the cost per wear, then they’re definitely worth it. I've barely taken mine off in two years!

All in all, UGG footwear runs true to size in all cases. Although some styles may seem a little tight to begin with, it’s worth waiting and wearing them a few times before you have your perfect fit. All of us here at The Sole Supplier adore our UGG boots and slippers, and highly recommend them. Regardless of whether you have narrow feet, wide feet or feet between two sizes, there’s a pair of UGGs to suit you. As well as this, the sheepskin-based brand also has a load of homeware and gifts on their site, and clothing too. There’s so much more to UGG than meets the eye.
