A creative Australian woman has shared how she threw a stunning sleepover party for her young cousins complete with tepees, fairy lights, pamper packs and balloons.

The Melbourne shopper said she raided Kmart's sale section for tents, mattresses, pillows, light-up garlands and string lights after being quoted exorbitant prices from a hire company.

Posting on the Kmart Home Décor and Hacks Australia Facebook page, the thrifty party stylist wowed thousands with the gorgeous set-up she made for her twin cousins and their four friends.

A creative Aussie woman has revealed how she created a stunning set up for her tween cousin's sleepover party using budget buys from Kmart, Ikea and Amazon

The Melbourne shopper said she raided Kmart's sale section for tents, mattresses, pillows, light-up garlands and string lights after being quoted exorbitant prices from a hire company

'Food tray from Ikea, masks, balloon garland and mini lights from amazon, everything else 100 per cent Kmart. The sale section was absolute joy, and didn't cost an arm and a leg,' she wrote in the post.

The party attendees, aged between 11 and 12, had their own single air mattress, which were just $7.50 each, dressed with a pink blanket as well as a $1 heart pillow and $4 bolster cushion all from Kmart.

Each bed was under its own $29 tepee that had been adorned with Kmart's $4 light up leaf garland, $6 cotton ball string lights and faux roses.

The $15 Ikea food trays at the end of the beds contained matching slippers, a fluffy eye mask, facial mask and a bottle of water.

The woman said the whole set up cost between $450-$500 but can be done for hundreds less by those on a tighter budget

She also created a balloon display above the beds across the ceiling using adhesive Command hooks and some string.

'Also plan ahead! If you've got time to wait for shipping I'm sure you can find cheaper alternatives. The additions are what add up, but was lucky to get a lot of items on clearance at a couple of the Kmarts in the area.'

She said the girls 'absolutely loved' their sleepover and she plans to rent out the accessories for parents to throw a stylish party for their own kids.

Groups members were impressed with the spectacular budget party idea and many joked they were jealous.

'I'm almost 30 and would love this! How cool,' laughed a third.

'This would be great as an adult version,' a fourth agreed to which another replied: 'Just imagine wine, grazing board and chocolates'.
